Roos sign star Ben Brown to new AFL deal
Oct 6, 2017 - 5:37 AM North Melbourne have signed star AFL forward Ben Brown to a two-year contract extension.Brown kicked a career-high 63 goals in 2017 to finish fourth in the Coleman Medal race behind the winner, Sydney superstar Lance Franklin.
The 24-year-old, had been contracted for next year, but is tied to the Kangaroos until the end of the 2020 season.
"North was really keen to keep me on and I was really keen to stay," Brown said.
"There was a lot of external noise but I never really considered (leaving). I'm really happy at North Melbourne and I'm really looking forward to staying around for a few more years.
"It's a really exciting time for us. We've got young kids coming through and, the next couple of years, I think we should really be pushing up the ladder.
"I'm really looking forward to being part of that."
Brown has kicked 154 goals in 77 games since being nabbed up by the Roos with pick No.47 overall at the 2013 draft.
