Saints lock away gun midfielder Seb Ross
Oct 16, 2017 - 1:48 AM St Kilda have locked away reigning best-and-fairest winner Seb Ross with a three-year AFL contract extension. The prolific midfielder will remain with the Saints until the end of 2021, having capped off a career-best season with his first Trevor Barker medal.
Ross averaged 30 disposals and five clearances per game in 2017 and was named in the 40-man All-Australian squad.
The 24-year-old joins fellow young guns Dylan Roberton and Blake Acres in signing new deals during the off-season.
"Seb was elected to our leadership group this year and relished the responsibility that comes with that," Saints chief operating officer Ameet Bains said on Monday.
"We think he can improve even further and be part of a really strong midfield group next year that has already shown at stages what a potent combination they can become."
