Riders pick up Watson from Bombers
Jan 29, 2015 - 3:26 PM Regina, SK (SportsNetwork.com) - The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired wide receiver Cory Watson and a third-round pick in the 2015 Canadian draft from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.In exchange, the Riders sent receiver Kris Bastien, a second-round pick in the draft and the rights to a negotiation list player to Winnipeg.
Watson spent five seasons in Winnipeg after he was selected by the Bombers in the second round of the 2010 draft. He has 178 catches for 2,217 yards with six touchdowns in 67 regular-season games.
The 30-year-old Quebec native appeared in 12 games last year for the Bombers and caught 21 passes for 287 yards with three touchdowns.
Bastien spent last season on the Riders' practice roster after being selected in the third round of the 2014 Canadian draft.
