Cozart, Leake agree to 1-year deals with Reds

Jan 16, 2015 - 8:21 PM Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cincinnati Reds avoided salary arbitration with shortstop Zack Cozart and pitcher Mike Leake.

Financial terms of the one-year deals were not disclosed, although MLB.com reported Cozart's to be worth $2.35 million. Leake, who avoided arbitration for a third straight year, will reportedly earn $9.775 million in 2015.

Cozart hit a career-worst .221 last season with four homers and 38 RBI in 147 games. He is a career. 243 hitter in 447 games since making his debut with the Reds in 2011.

Leake owns a record of 53-42 with a 3.92 ERA in 147 games, all but five as a starter, with the Reds since breaking into the big leagues in 2010. He was 11-13 with a 3.70 ERA in 33 starts last year.
