Buscher homers in Twins' rout of Reds

Feb 26, 2009 - 9:21 PM SARASOTA, Florida (Ticker) -- Brian Buscher hit a two-run home run and Brock Peterson belted a grand slam as the Minnesota Twins rolled to a 10-4 Grapefruit League victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday.

Twins starter Nick Blackburn retired all six batters he faced in two perfect innings. Four relievers threw a scoreless inning before Cincinnati roughed up Philip Humber for four runs in the seventh.

Kevin Barker had a two-run double in the inning, but Peterson put the game out of reach with his eighth-inning slam off Ramon Ramirez.

Micah Owings had an impressive start for the Reds, striking out two and giving up a pair of hits in three innings.

Buscher and Brendan Harris each had two hits to pace Minnesota's 14-hit attack.
