Hill helps Nationals blank Astros
Feb 27, 2009 - 9:07 PM VIERA, Florida (Ticker) -- Shawn Hill pitched a perfect first inning Friday, setting the tone for a well-pitched game as the Washington Nationals blanked the Houston Astros, 2-0, in Grapefruit League action.After Hill, Gustavo Chacin, Marco Estrada and Jason Bergman pitched a combined six shutout innings, surrendering just two hits.
Washington scored two runs in the second inning on RBI doubles by Jesus Flores and Cristian Guzman.
Drew Sutton and Geoff Blum were the only Houston players to collect a hit, while Hunter Pence walked in the game.
