Braden shins for Athletics

Mar 5, 2009 - 11:53 PM PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Dallas Braden worked three effective innings Thursday, leading a split squad of Oakland Athletics to a 6-1 victory over South Africa.

Braden gave up one hit without a walk or strikeout.

Rajai Davis went 2-for-4 to pace the Oakland offense.

South Africa, tuning up for the World Baseball Classic this weekend, managed just three hits.
