Braves complete sweep of Brewers

Apr 15, 2012 - 9:49 PM Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Chipper Jones hit a three-run homer in his return to the lineup, Brandon Beachy went seven solid innings and the Braves completed a three-game sweep of the Brewers with a 7-4 win on Sunday.

The Braves, winners of five straight, were without Jones for the previous two games due to swelling in his surgically repaired left knee.

"It was nice to get back in the lineup," said the third baseman. "The knee felt good."

Beachy (1-1) allowed an unearned run on three hits and two walks while striking out six. Jason Heyward hit a solo home run, Eric Hinske had a two-run single and Brian McCann added an RBI.

Chris Narveson (1-1) gave up five runs on four hits over four innings in the loss. Jonathan Lucroy had an RBI single in the second and a two-run homer in the ninth. Corey Hart added an RBI double in the ninth for the Brewers, who have dropped four in a row overall and eight straight at Turner Field.

"Their guys have all pitched well...the whole series," said Lucroy. "They stayed down in the zone and made pitches when they had to. You have to give credit to them. They all executed in big situations."

Michael Bourn led off the bottom of the first with a double, advanced to third on a bunt and scored on McCann's sac fly. In the second, Aramis Ramirez tied it, reaching on an error by Martin Prado and scoring three batters later on Lucroy's single up the middle.

Beachy, who retired 11 straight batters at one point, drew a walk to start the third and Jones followed Prado's double with a blast to left for a 4-1 Atlanta lead.

Kris Medlen faced the minimum in the eighth and the pinch-hitting Hinske made it 7-1 in the home half with a bases-loaded, two-run single to right.

Hart doubled home Ryan Braun in the ninth and Lucroy blasted a two-out, two- run home later in the frame, but Chad Durbin struck out George Kottaras to seal the Braves' win.
