Quintana helps White Sox blank Blue Jays

Tyler Flowers went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and Alex Rios added a solo shot in the White Sox' second straight win. Quintana (1-0) turned in another solid performance, striking out seven and scattering just five hits.
Since getting lit up in his first start, Quintana has thrown 13 2/3 scoreless innings.
"He's been doing his homework," Flowers said of his batterymate. "He pretty much executed everything he wanted to."
Paul Konerko had a sacrifice fly and extended his hitting streak to nine games, while Jeff Keppinger and Alexei Ramirez added an RBI apiece in the victory.
J.A. Happ (2-1) struggled over 5 2/3 innings in his first career outing against the White Sox, allowing five runs on six hits. Rajai Davis and Edwin Encarnacion each had two hits in the setback, Toronto's third in four games.
The White Sox went in front early on the bat of Flowers, who cranked Happ's 2-1 offering over the center field wall for a 3-0 Chicago lead. Dayan Viciedo had lined a two-out double into left and Happ then walked Ramirez to set the table for Flowers' third homer of the season.
"When you miss they make you pay," Happ said. "I caught too much of the plate."
Happ found trouble again the fourth when he surrendered a leadoff double to Konerko. He looked like he might get out of the jam after striking out Adam Dunn and Viciedo, but Ramirez ripped a first pitch fastball to center for a double and created a four-run cushion for the White Sox.
The lead was 5-0 in the sixth after Rios began the frame by launching a homer off the upper deck in left.
In three different innings, the Blue Jays got a runner to at least second base, but were unable to push a run across. They were 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
Their last chance came in the sixth when Encarnacion drew a one-out walk and took second on a Quintana wild pitch. However, Brett Lawrie then flew out and Colby Rasmus went down swinging to end the inning.
Chicago added its last two runs in the seventh via sacrifice flies. After three straight singles to start the frame loaded the bases, Keppinger lifted a fly ball to center to plate Flowers.
Rios then walked to load the bases again and Konerko's sac fly to center accounted for the final margin. Toronto would register just two hit over the last three innings.
Game Notes
The White Sox broke a string of seven straight games with four runs or fewer ... Toronto's Jose Bautista sat for a third straight game with a sore back ... Chicago went 3-for-7 with runners in scoring position ... The Blue Jays will send R.A. Dickey to the mound for the series finale and the White Sox will counter with Chris Sale.
