Yankees' season opener postponed by rain
Mar 31, 2008 - 7:33 PM BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- Monday's season-opener between the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays was postponed due to rain.The matinee contest was rescheduled for Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. EDT.
The originally scheduled starting pitchers both will take the hill Tuesday at Yankee Stadium, as New York righthander Chien-Ming Wang will face Toronto ace Roy Halladay.
It will mark the 84th all-time Opening Day at Yankee Stadium, which will serve as the Yankees' home ballpark for one more season.
New York will move into a new $1.3 billion stadium next season.
