Wakefield takes the hill for Red Sox

Boston welcomes in the lowly Baltimore Orioles for the second of their three-game series Saturday.
The Red Sox enter tied with Toronto for second-place in the American League East Division, a spot they have finished in in each of their previous eight seasons.
Wily Mo Pena plated the go-ahead run and Mike Lowell supplied three RBI as Boston held on to post a 4-3 victory in Friday's series opener. AL MVP candidate David Ortiz walked three times for the second straight game and scored twice in a winning effort.
Tim Wakefield (7-11, 4.63 ERA) goes for his first triumph since returning from the 15-day disabled list in mid-September for the Red Sox. Wakefield has surrendered 15 runs and 23 hits over his last three starts - all losses.
The knuckleballer, who is 3-4 with a 3.93 ERA in 11 games at home this season, battled through six innings, allowing just three runs and seven hits in a 9-3 triumph against the Orioles in his last meeting here May 6.
Baltimore rookie Adam Loewen (6-6, 5.30) takes the hill in search of his first career win against Boston. Loewen allowed four runs and eight hits with eight strikeouts in six frames in last Sunday's 6-3 loss vs. Minnesota. He will be making his third career start against the Red Sox.
All-Star shortstop Miguel Tejada collected his 212th hit of the season with a leadoff single in the second inning, breaking Cal Ripken Jr.'s franchise mark set during the 1983 campaign.
