Orioles try to even series with Twins
Apr 3, 2007 - 2:37 PM Baltimore (0-1) at Minnesota (1-0) 8:10 pm EDTMINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- After watching ace Erik Bedard get battered, the Baltimore Orioles look to rebound against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.
Righthander Daniel Cabrera will take the mound for the Orioles. His 104 walks last season were the most allowed by an Oriole since Mike Torrez walked 133 in 1975.
The 25-year-old Cabrera closed the 2006 season with a one-hitter and finished 9-10 with a 4.74 ERA.
Reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Johan Santana won his 17th consecutive home decision and reigning AL MVP Justin Morneau and Torii Hunter homered in the Twins' 7-4 victory on Monday. Bedard was tagged for six runs and 10 hits in 4 2/3 innings.
Boof Bonser will start on Tuesday for Minnesota. He was 7-6 with a 4.22 ERA in 2006 as a rookie.
Bonser will be a regular in the rotation since the Twins are without Francisco Liriano (60-day disabled list) and Brad Radke (retired).
