Twins seek to snap four-game losing streak

Apr 26, 2007 - 2:11 PM Kansas City (7-14) at Minnesota (11-10) 1:10 pm EDT

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Twins look to snap a four-game losing streak when they hostthe Kansas City Royals on Thursday.

The Twins also have lost four in a row at home to fall to 6-7 at the Metrodome, where they were a major league-best 54-27 last year.

Minnesota has scored a total of 10 runs during the losing streak.

Righthander Boof Bonser (0-1, 6.53 ERA) will try to end the Twins' struggles and pick up his first win of the season. Bonser faced Kansas City last Saturday and allowed five runs - three earned - in five innings. He did not get a decision in the Twins' 7-5 victory.

The Royals will send Zack Greinke (1-2, 4.82) to the mound. The 23-year-old righthander opposed Bonser and allowed four runs and nine hits in five innings. He also did not figure in the decision.

The Royals improved to 3-1 against the Twins this season with a 4-3 victory on Wednesday.

Kansas City's Mike Sweeney, who homered Wednesday, is hitting .333 (155-for-465) with 22 homers and 100 RBI in his career against the Twins.

David DeJesus had three hits Wednesday, including his fourth home run of the season. The Kansas City outfielder also has posted solid career numbers against the Twins with a .312 batting average (49-for-157), eight home runs and 21 RBI.

Minnesota's Torii Hunter owns a 12-game hitting streak and has hit safely in 15-of-19 games. The center fielder has 17 extra-base hits this year.

The Twins are 0-8 when trailing after seven innings.
