RHP Harang goes for fourth win of season for Reds

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) - Aaron Harang is off to one of his best starts in years and he's not about to let go of that feeling.

Harang will try to win his fourth start when the Cincinnati Reds take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in the finale of their three-game series on Sunday.

At 6-7, Harang (3-0, 3.86 ERA) was brilliant in his last start, allowing just two runs in 7 2/3 innings as the Reds rolled to a 10-3 triumph over St. Louis last Tuesday.

The righthander is 9-3 with a 4.40 ERA through 14 lifetime outings against Pittsburgh. In an earlier matchup with the Pirates, Harang gave up five runs in 5 2/3 frames but still picked up the win on April 7.

Veteran Jeff Conine collected three RBI as Cincinnati put an end to its three-game slide with an 8-1 victory in the middle game on Saturday. The Reds' Matt Belisle also carried a perfect game into the sixth.

Paul Maholm (1-2, 3.96) will try to repeat his impressive performance when he takes the mound for Pittsburgh. The lefthander pitched a three-hitter to beat Houston on Tuesday.

The triumph marked the first time Maholm was able to throw past the sixth inning this season. He is 2-2 with a 4.78 ERA against the Reds, but has posted 2-0 mark at home.
