Duke, Pirates look to continue dominance of Cubs

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) - Zach Duke hopes facing a team has had success against can help he and his teammates get back on track.

Duke takes the hill for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the opener of a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs on Monday.

Pittsburgh has lost two in a row after winning a season-high five straight. However, the Pirates have won six of their last seven meetings against the Cubs.

Duke (1-2, 6.92 ERA) has struggled this season, allowing 10 first-inning runs in five starts. But he is 4-1 with a 1.40 ERA in six career starts against the Cubs.

The Cubs enter this contest in the midst of a season-high three-game winning streak. On Sunday, the Cubs had their game at St. Louis postponed following the death of Cardinals reliever Josh Hancock.

Coming off his first loss of the season, Rich Hill (3-1, 1.57) take the ball for the Cubs. The lefthander had allowed one run and eight hits over 22 innings in his first three starts before giving up four runs in 6 2/3 innings in his last outing against Milwaukee on Wednesday.
