Mets seek 11th straight win at Arizona

PHOENIX (Ticker) -- The New York Mets will go for their 11th straight win at Chase Field when they visit the Arizona Diamondbacks Thursday in the opener of a four-game series.

Tom Glavine (3-1, 2.80 ERA) will get the start for the Mets in search of career win No. 294. The All-Star lefthander owns a 10-3 career record with a 2.27 ERA - his lowest mark against any team - in 14 starts against the Diamondbacks.

The 41-year-old Glavine has yet to yield more than three earned runs in any of his starts this season, but has not earned a win since April 13 at Philadelphia.

Arizona will counter with rookie Micah Owings. The 24-year-old righthander will be activated before the game after a two-week stay on the disabled list due to a pulled hamstring.

Owings picked up his first major league win in his first start on April 6.

The Mets picked up some hardware on Wednesday. Pitcher John Maine was named the National League's Pitcher of the Month and Jose Reyes was named Player of the Month.
