RHP Germano aims to help Padres bounce back
May 13, 2007 - 2:14 PM St Louis (15-19) at San Diego (19-18) 4:05 pm EDTSAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Justin Germano will look to help the San Diego Padres bounce back from being shut out for the first time this season.
Germano takes the mound for his second start of the season when the Padres host the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.
Braden Looper limited the Padres to three hits in seven innings and So Taguchi drove in three runs as the Cardinals posted a 5-0 win on Saturday night.
Germano (0-0, 1.50 ERA) is making his second start after being called up last week. Originally drafted by the Padres in 2000, Germano was picked up off waivers on March 19. He allowed one run over six innings against Atlanta last Tuesday in a no-decision.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals will send Anthony Reyes (0-5, 5.03) to the mound. Reyes is still winless despite allowing a season-low two runs in his last start.
