Indians LHP Sabathia seeks sixth win of season

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Good things seem to happen to the Cleveland Indians when C.C. Sabathia takes the mound.

The lefthander will be after his sixth win of the season on Wednesday when the Indians host the Minnesota Twins.

Sabathia (5-1, 4.02 ERA) is coming off his first loss of the season, allowing six runs in 6 2/3 innings in an 8-2 defeat to Oakland. Prior to that, the Indians were 7-0 when Sabathia started.

The 6-7 Sabathia didn't have much luck against the Twins a year ago, going 1-3 in four starts

Carlos Silva (2-3, 3.00) starts for the Twins, who are 0-3 against the Indians this season. The 240-pound righthander faced the Indians on April 23 and allowed three runs in nine innings, but did not get a decision.

Jhonny Peralta homered and drove in four runs in the Indians' 15-7 win over the Twins on Tuesday.

Cleveland improved its major league-leading home record to 12-3 and is 7-2 against American League Central opponents this season.

Justin Morneau homered twice for Minnesota, which has lost nine of 12 to fall six games behind the division-leading Detroit Tigers.
