Durbin faces Schilling in doubleheader nightcap

BOSTON (Ticker) -- Chad Durbin looks to continue his recent run of success when the Detroit Tigers face the Boston Red Sox in the second game of their day-night doubleheader.

Durbin (3-1, 5.08 ERA) has rebounded nicely after going 0-1 and allowing 16 earned runs in his first three starts of the season. Over his last four outings, he is 3-0 and has allowed six runs in 25 1/3 innings.

Curt Schilling (4-1, 3.63) gets the start for Boston, which has won six of the eight games started by the veteran righthander. The 40-year-old hasn't seen Detroit much during his career, facing them just six times, including four starts.

He has gone 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA in three games - two starts - against Detroit since joining the Red Sox in 2004. This is only his second start against the Tigers at Fenway Park.

The month of May has been Schilling's best regular-season month throughout his career, as he is 42-20 with a 3.16 ERA. In three May starts this season, he is 1-0 with a 4.26 ERA.
