Twins aim to end three-game slide vs. Brewers
May 18, 2007 - 2:14 PM Minnesota (18-22) at Milwaukee (26-15) 8:05 pm EDTMILWAUKEE (Ticker) - The Minnesota Twins look to regain their form in interleague play from last season when they face the Milwaukee Brewers in the opener of a three-game series Friday.
Minnesota went 16-2 in interleague last season, tying Boston for the best mark in baseball. The Twins went 5-1 against the Brewers.
The Brewers went 6-9 against American League foes last season.
Trying to win consecutive starts for the first time this season, Boof Bonser (1-1, 4.33 ERA) takes the mound for the Twins. The righthander gave up four runs over five innings in beating Detroit on Sunday.
Chris Capuano (5-1, 2.93) takes the mound for the Brewers. The lefthander endured his first loss of the season on Sunday, allowing four runs and seven hits over four innings against the New York Mets.
Capuano is 5-2 with a 4.19 ERA in nine interleague starts, including a 2-0 showing in three starts against Minnesota.
Reigning AL MVP Justin Morneau hit .388 with six homers and 20 RBI against the National League last season, including 8-for-20 vs. Milwaukee.
