BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Red Sox, who have taken a commanding lead in the American League East, will look to continue their stellar play when they take on the Atlanta Braves in the first game of an interleague doubleheader on Saturday.

Friday night's contest between the Red Sox and Braves was postponed due to inclement weather. It marks the fourth weather-related postponement this season for Red Sox (28-12), who boasts the best record in the major leagues and are just coming off a twinbill Thursday vs. Detroit.

In fact, after beating the AL champion Tigers in three of four games, the Red Sox have opened a 10-game lead in the East as the rival New York Yankees continue to flounder. The two division foes will face off in three-game set starting Monday.

Boston aims to keep it going behind rookie phenom Daisuke Matsuzaka (5-2, 4.17 ERA), who will push Devern Hansack back to the second game of the doubleheader.

Matsuzaka is coming off his best outing of the season, throwing his first complete game in a 7-1 victory vs. Detroit on Monday. He allowed just one run and six hits.

Atlanta's Anthony Lerew (0-1, 6.52) will try to shake off his last outing as he was tagged for five runs and seven hits in 3 2/3 innings at Pittsburgh on Sunday.

The Braves have posted the sixth-best mark at 91-75 since interleague play started in 1997. However, the Red Sox went 16-2 last season, including a three-game sweep at Atlanta.
