Rangers look for another win vs. Astros
May 19, 2007 - 2:21 PM Texas (16-26) at Houston (20-21) 7:05 pm EDTHOUSTON (Ticker) -- The Texas Rangers will try to get a repeat performance when they face the Houston Astros in the second game of a three-game interleague series Saturday.
Nelson Cruz and Ramon Vazquez hit consecutive home runs during a fifth-inning uprising as the Rangers posted a 7-4 victory in Friday's series opener.
To get another win, Texas will have to deal with Houston's Wandy Rodriguez (1-3, 4.33 ERA), who is hoping to build of his recent success as he goes for back-to-back wins for the first time since last June 6-11.
The Dominican lefthander watched his 18-game winless streak come to an end with last Sunday's 5-2 triumph over Arizona, allowing one run and four hits in five innings.
Rodriguez has face the Rangers once before, picking up a win in his only start despite allowing five runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
John Koronka (NR) takes the hill for Texas in the absence of injured starter Kevin Millwood, who was placed on the disabled list with a strained hamstring Tuesday.
The southpaw went 3-3 with a 5.40 ERA in eight starts at Class AAA Oklahoma prior to his promotion. Last season, Koronka made 23 starts for Texas, posting a 7-7 record with a 5.69 ERA.
Texas got some bad news on Friday as third baseman Hank Blalock could be out for at least three months because of shoulder surgery.
