Blue Jays' Marcum takes the hill for first win as a starter

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Toronto Blue Jays hope for a repeat performance from Shaun Marcum on Saturday.

Marcum and the Blue Jays takes on the Philadelphia Phillies in the second game of their three-game interleague series.

Marcum (1-2, 4.43 ERA) took full advantage of his promotion from the bullpen, striking out seven in six hitless innings Sunday but failed to figure in the decision of a 2-1 loss to Tampa Bay.

The righthander will be making his first start against a National League opponent in place of injured starter Victor Zambrano, who is on the disabled list with a strained right forearm.

Philadelphia will counter with 44-year-old Jamie Moyer (4-2, 3.48), who allowed five runs and nine hits in 6 1/3 frames and did not figure in an 8-6 win over Milwaukee on Monday.

The lefthander faced the Blue Jays twice last season as a member of the Seattle Mariners, allowing 10 runs and 20 hits in 11 1/3 innings for a 7.94 ERA.

Aaron Rowand and Shane Victorino both collected RBI singles as Philadelphia captured a 5-3 victory in the opener, pulling to .500 with its seventh win in nine games.
