LHP Wolf aims to snap Dodgers' four-game slide
May 22, 2007 - 1:37 PM Milwaukee (28-17) at LA Dodgers (25-20) 10:10 pm EDTLOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Randy Wolf looks to end the Los Angeles Dodgers' four-game losing streak when the Milwaukee Brewers come calling Tuesday.
Wolf (5-3, 3.91 ERA) picked up his straight win, allowing three runs and six hits over five innings in Wednesday's 5-4 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.
The lefthander has gave up three earned runs in 17 1/3 innings in his last three outings, going 2-0 over that stretch.
A California native, Wolf is 4-3 with a 4.00 ERA through 13 career starts against the Brewers, including a 4-3 setback in his Dodgers debut on April 3.
Ben Sheets (4-2, 3.86) goes for his third consecutive win when he takes the ball for Milwaukee. He pitched seven solid 7 2/3 innings last time out, allowing two run with eight strikeouts for a 3-2 triumph at Philadelphia on Thursday.
In the season opener at Miller Park on April 2, the righthander held the Dodgers to just two hits for a complete-game victory while also retiring 22 batters in a row to close out the game.
On Monday, slugger Prince Fielder registered his sixth career multi-homer contest and Rickie Weeks had career-high four hits as Milwaukee rolled to a 9-5 win.
Weeks drove in three runs in his first game back on the field since missing the last four matchup due to a sore wrist.
"I can't stand to be away from the game for a long time," Weeks said. "I felt really good tonight, and I'm just happy I was able to help the team win."
