Lincecum and Oswalt set to faceoff once again

May 22, 2007 - 1:34 PM Houston (21-23) at San Francisco (22-22) 10:15 pm EDT

SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) - San Francisco Giants rookie Tim Lincecum battled Houston Astros ace Roy Oswalt to a draw the last meeting. On Tuesday, they get to do it again.

Lincecum and Oswalt face off as the Giants continue to host the Astros in the middle game of a three-game series.

The Giants first round pick in the 2006 draft, Lincecum matched Oswalt pitch for pitch, but both received no-decisions as San Francisco won, 2-1, in 12 innings on Thursday.

Lincecum (1-0, 3.44 ERA) allowed just one unearned run and two hits in seven scoreless innings with a season-high 10 strikeouts in his third career start.

Meanwhile, Oswalt (6-2, 2.83) carried a no-hitter into the sixth and finished by allowing just four hits with six strikeouts.

Randy Winn extended his hitting streak to a major-league leading 20 games in Monday's 4-0 win, which is the longest by a San Francisco Giant since Robby Thompson hit in 20 straight in 1993.

Barry Bonds is mired in a 5-for-31 (.161) slump and has not homered in 11 games, his longest drought since he went 13 straight at the start of 2006. He is 4-for-7 with a homer and four walks vs. Oswalt after going 0-3 last Thursday.
