White Sox face Devil Rays, look for another home win

May 26, 2007 - 1:48 PM Tampa Bay (19-28) at Chi White Sox (24-20) 7:05 pm EDT

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago White Sox aim for another impressive home win when they take on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the middle game of a three-game set on Saturday night.

Joe Crede snapped a ninth-inning tie with a walk-off sacrifice fly as the White Sox held of the Devil Rays with an exciting 5-4 victory on Friday night. Journeyman outfielder Luis Terrero blasted a three-run homer for Chicago, which secured its eighth win in its last 11 home contests.

They will look to keep it going behind Javier Vazquez (2-2, 4.21 ERA), who is winless in four starts in May. He has not won since emerging victorious at Cleveland on April 13.

In his last outing, Vazquez yielded five runs and five hits in seven innings, while striking out eight and walking one.

He will be opposed by Edwin Jackson (0-6, 7.78), who still is searching for his first win this season. He had one of his worst outings of the season, allowing seven runs - six earned - and seven hits in 2 2/3 innings.

Once considered one of the top prospects in the Dodgers' organization, Jackson is fighting just to say in Tampa Bay's rotation.

The Devil Rays have lost six of their last seven games.
