RHP Lohse aims for back-to-back wins for Reds
Jun 2, 2007 - 2:35 PM Cincinnati (22-34) at Colorado (25-30) 8:05 pm EDTDENVER (Ticker) -- Kyle Loshe hopes to build off his recent success as the Cincinnati Reds take on the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.
After enduring a personal six-game slide, Loshe (2-6, 4.59 ERA) finally was able to brake through in his last start. He gave up six hits in his first complete-game win of the season, a 4-0 victory over Pittsburgh.
In his only start against the Rockies, the righthander yielded one run in six frames during a win as a member of the Minnesota Twins on June 11, 2003.
Bobby Livingston recorded his first career win and Ken Griffey Jr. stroked his 12th homer this season as Cincinnati posted a 4-2 triumph on Friday.
Griffey's homer was the 575th of his career, leaving him eight shy from tying Mark McGwire for eighth on the all-time list.
"Anytime you're able to spot the pitcher like that it takes a little pressure off him and I was fortunate to get a ball I could hit and I hit it," Griffey said.
The Rockies will send Jeff Francis (4-4, 3.93 ERA) to the mound. He was brilliant last time out, taking a shutout into the eighth inning of a 6-2 win on Monday here over St. Louis.
Francis is 2-1 with a 3.75 ERA in four lifetime starts vs. Cincinnati, winning both os his meetings at Coors Field.
