Hudson looks to stay perfect against Marlins

Jun 4, 2007 - 2:51 PM Florida (27-30) at Atlanta (32-24) 7:05 pm EDT

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Florida Marlins are one National League East Division rival that Tim Hudson hasn't had much trouble with.

The Atlanta Braves righthander is 5-0 with a 2.10 ERA in nine career starts against Florida and will look to improve on those numbers when the teams meet on Monday in the first of four games over the next three days.

Hudson (6-3, 2.77 ERA) has faced the Marlins twice already this season, going 1-0 with a 2.40 ERA. In his last start against Florida on April 25, Hudson carried a 3-0 lead into the ninth inning but allowed three runs as the Marlins won the game with four runs in the inning.

Florida starter Wes Obermueller (1-3, 5.02 ERA) hasn't won a start since his season debut on April 22. The 30-year-old righthander has started seven games since then, going 0-3 with a 5.39 ERA.

Atlanta's Andruw Jones may be starting to find his swing after a rough start to the season. The Braves' center fielder has a nine-game hitting streak and has batted .306 (11-for-36) with three home runs and seven RBI over that span. In the process, he has raised his batting average from .213 to .230.
