Braves' Davies looks for first career victory vs. Marlins

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Braves hope Kyle Davies can finally break through against the Florida Marlins.

Davies and the Braves look to pull out a win when they complete their four-game series against the Marlins on Wednesday.

Atlanta dropped the last game of a day-night doubleheader, 5-1, on Tuesday after winning the opener, 3-1.

Davies (3-3, 4.99 ERA), who has alternated wins and losses in his last five starts, yielded one run and six hits in seven innings in an 8-5 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Friday.

However, the righthander has been awful in six appearances - four starts - vs. Florida. The 23-year-old is 0-3 with a 9.68 ERA vs. the Marlins, including an 8-7 loss on April 23 when he surrendered five runs, six hits and a season-high six walks in four-plus innings.

Florida, which won the first game of this four-game set on Monday, sends Scott Olsen (4-5, 5.35) to the mound hoping to finish its 11-game road trip with a seventh victory.

Olsen has lost his last two starts, including an 8-5 setback to the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday when he gave up five runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings.

The 24-year-old is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in two starts against the Braves this season, and 1-3 with an 8.51 ERA against them for his career.
