Oswalt looking for help to maintain Coors Field success

DENVER (Ticker) -- Roy Oswalt has been masterful over his career in Coors Field. However, the Houston Astros have done little to support their ace of late.

Oswalt and the Astros meet the Colorado Rockies in the rubber game of their three-game series on Thursday.

Oswalt (6-4, 3.20 ERA) is 5-1 with a 1.73 ERA in six starts against the Rockies, including a 2-0 mark and 1.93 ERA in his two Coors Field appearances. Unfortunately for him, Houston's offense has backed him with only five runs over his last four outings, 27 innings in all.

The righthander will be going for his first win in five tries following his start on Friday against St. Louis. He allowed just one run and four hits over seven frames, but the Cardinals scored seven runs in the top of the ninth against the Astros' bullpen in the 8-1 defeat.

Josh Fogg (1-5, 4.53 ERA), who is 3-6 with a 6.09 ERA in 13 starts and one relief appearance against Houston, will get the start as the Rockies plan on activating him from the disabled list prior to Thursday's game.

On May 22, Fogg yielded one run over six innings but did receive a decision as the Rockies handed the Diamondbacks a 3-1 defeat.

The righthander will be trying to stop a personal five-game winless skid for the Rockies, who have won 10 of their last 14 after a 18-27 start to the season.
