Indians renew 'Battle of Ohio' with Reds

CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Round two of the "Battle of Ohio" begins Friday when the Cleveland Indians visit the Cincinnati Reds.

Cleveland took two-of-three games from the Reds last month when the team met at Jacobs Field, and since that series the teams have been heading in opposite directions.

The Indians are 10-7 since the May 18-20 series and are in first place in the American League Central Division. Meanwhile, the Reds have sunk to the bottom of the National League Central Division after losing 11 of 17.

Cleveland starter Cliff Lee (2-3, 6.35 ERA) has a 3-0 career record against the Reds, but his ERA over those four starts is 5.91. Lee has struggled lately - he is 0-3 with a 10.51 ERA during his last three starts.

Cincinnati will counter with Homer Bailey (NR), who will be making his major league debut.

The 21-year-old righthander was the seventh overall draft pick in 2004 and is regarded as one of the top pitching prospects in baseball. In 10 games at Class AAA Louisville this season, Bailey was 6-1 with a 2.31 ERA.

Cleveland's Casey Blake has a career-high 16-game hitting and is batting .339 (21-for-62) during that span. He has raised his average from .255 to .280 during the streak.
