Sabathia takes shot a win No. 10

CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Cleveland Indians ace C.C. Sabathia is coming off a shutout of the Kansas City Royals. Up next for the hefty lefty: an in-state battle at the Cincinnati Reds.

Sabathia (9-1, 3.40 ERA) went 2-2 last season during interleague play, picking up a no decision in his lone start against the Reds. In that July 2 appearance at Great American Ballpark, Sabathia lasted six innings, allowing three runs and seven hits.

Cincinnati catcher David Ross clubbed a pair of homers off the 26-year-old lefthander in that start.

With a win on Sunday, Sabathia would become the first 10-game winner in the majors this season.

The Reds will counter with their own ace, Aaron Harang (6-2, 4.24). The 29-year-old righthander has been the most consistent arn in Cincinnati's stable, having lasted at least six innings in all but four of his 13 starts this season.

Harang, who led the National League in strikeouts last season, has 75 in 87 innings this season.

He owns a career 3-1 mark against Cleveland with a 2.82 ERA in six career starts.

Cincinnati took the first game of the series on Friday behind Homer Bailey's first major league win. The Indians came back on Saturday against the Reds suspect bullpen to earn an 8-6 victory in 11 innings.
