Twins seek third straight win

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Twins go in search of their third straight win when the Atlanta Braves come calling in an interleague matchup on Wednesday.

In Tuesday's series opener, Torii Hunter doubled home a pair of runs, stole third base and came around on a throwing error during a five-run fourth inning that led to a 7-3 victory.

The Twins have not won three straight since reeling off a season-high, four-game winning streak to close out the month of May.

Minnesota sends Carlos Silva (3-7, 4.58 ERA) to the mound with the hopes of getting over his last outings. He was tagged for seven runs and nine hits in just three innings of an 8-5 setback at the Washington Nationals on Friday.

The Venezuelan righthander has gone 1-6 with a 5.62 ERA in seven starts since the starting the season with a 2-1 record. Silva is 1-0 in 16 career appearances against Atlanta, but has never started against the National League club.

The Braves will counter with Chuck James (5-5, 3.66), who will be making his first career appearance vs. the Twins. He allowed two runs and six hits in seven frames in Thursday's 2-1 setback to the Chicago Cubs in his last start.
