Santana looks to lead Twins to fourth straight win

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - Johan Santana hopes to keep the Minnesota Twins on the winning side when they host the Atlanta Braves in their interleague series finale Thursday.

Santana (6-6, 3.24 ERA) tries to get back on track after dropping back-to-back decisions for the second time this season. The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner gave up three runs in seven innings of a 3-1 setback to Washington last Saturday.

The lefthanded Santana is looking to get back up to above .500 and help the Twins capture the rubber game of this series.

Carlos Silva recorded his second career complete-game shutout and Michael Cuddyer had three hits with two doubles in Wednesday's 6-0 victory.

Atlanta hopes Tim Hudson (6-4, 3.51) can bounce back from his leg injury. He left in the third inning after getting hit by hard hit grounder against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday.

The righthander is 6-2 with a respectable 2.30 ERA in 12 career outings against Minnesota, which is trying to hand Atlanta its season-high fourth straight loss.
