White Sox aim for another win in Toronto

The AL Central-leading White Sox, who haven't won consecutive games north of the border in over six years, snapped a four-game skid at Rogers Centre when Alejandro De Aza scored the go-ahead run on a botched pick-off attempt during a three-run fifth inning, helping Chicago even the series with a 3-2 win.
De Aza and Dewayne Wise drove in a run each for the White Sox, who rebounded from an extra-inning loss in Monday's opener to win for the third time in five games overall.
"I was just happy we pieced it together without actually hitting a home run," noted White Sox manager Robin Ventura. "That's pretty nice. It was also a good game for our defense, just a big win."
Jose Quintana (5-2) allowed eight hits and two runs over 6 2/3 innings to snap a five-start winless skid for Chicago, while Addison Reed recorded the final four outs for his 21st save as Chicago remained two games ahead of Detroit in the Central.
Rajai Davis collected three hits, while Yunel Escobar and Mike McCoy knocked in a run apiece for the Blue Jays, who have dropped six of their last eight overall.
Henderson Alvarez (7-10) worked seven full frames in defeat, charged with seven hits and three runs as well as the key gaffe which sent the visitors to victory.
Even with the setback, the Blue Jays have won 16 of their last 20 against the Pale Hose in Toronto and Chicago hasn't won consecutive games since taking the first two contests of a three-game series on Aug. 4-5, 2006.
Veteran Gavin Floyd will take the hill for the White Sox on Wednesday, searching for his second straight solid outing against the Blue Jays. The right-hander had been 0-4 with an ERA north of 7.00 in his first five starts against Toronto before hurling 7 2/3 innings of four-hit ball in a 2-0 win back on July 7.
Struggling left-hander Ricky Romero will oppose Floyd. Romero is a dismal 0-8 with a 7.26 ERA since his last win on June 22. He is, however, 3-1 with a 3.51 ERA in five career starts versus the White Sox.
