Brewers aim for fourth straight victory, face Twins
Jun 16, 2007 - 1:15 PM Milwaukee (37-30) at Minnesota (33-32) 7:10 pm EDTMINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - Trying for their longest winning streak in over a month, the Milwaukee Brewers will look to struggling righthander Dave Bush.
Bush and the Brewers aim for their fourth consecutive victory when they face the Minnesota Twins on Saturday.
Milwaukee pounded Minnesota, 11-3 on Friday, receiving a grand slam from Geoff Jenkins and a two-run shot by Prince Fielder for its fifth double-digit scoring contest in 2007. The blast by Fielder gave him 24 homers, one shy of the major-league lead held by Alex Rodriguez.
The win put the Brewers in position to win their fourth straight Saturday, which would be their longest streak since a six-game run from May 4-9. They will look to Bush (3-6, 5.70 ERA) to get the job done. Since his last win on May 8 against Washington, the righthander has gone 0-3 with a 5.66 ERA in six starts. Five of those starts became losses for Milwaukee. Bush is 0-3 in three career starts against Minnesota.
The Twins will counter with Boof Bonser (5-2, 4.21), who has won five of his last six starts. The righthander allowed three runs and nine hits in a 6-3 win vs. the Nationals last Sunday.
Bonser defeated Milwaukee on May 18, limiting the Brewers to a run and three hits in seven innings of a 8-1 win.
