Arroyo attempts to get to 10 wins in Philadelphia

Arroyo, a 35-year-old from Key West, first reached double digits with 10 wins as a member of the World Series champion Boston Red Sox in 2004, then repeated the feat with 14 wins for Boston a season later.
He was traded to Cincinnati before the 2006 season and has hit 10 or more in four of six full years with the Reds, including a career-high 17 victories in 33 starts in 2010.
Arroyo was 7-7 this season after a loss at Milwaukee on Aug. 6, but has bounced back with two defeats of the Chicago Cubs - home and away - while allowing 14 hits and five runs in 14 1/3 innings.
He's just 1-7 in 10 career outings - nine starts - against the Phillies and has been hammered to the tune of a .323 opposition batting average and a 7.28 earned run average.
Philadelphia goes with youngster Vance Worley, who was 7 years old when Arroyo was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1995.
Now 24, Worley reached the majors with the Phillies in 2010 and was 1-1 in five appearances, then burst onto the scene with 11 wins in 14 decisions across 25 outings last season.
He was 6-6 this year after defeating Washington, 3-2, on Aug. 1, but has gone 0-2 with a no-decision in three subsequent starts while giving up 12 runs in 13 2/3 innings.
Worley is 1-0 in two career starts against the Reds with a 5.73 ERA.
On Tuesday, Zack Cozart clubbed the go-ahead solo home run in the top of the ninth inning and the Reds edged the Phillies, 5-4.
Facing Jonathan Papelbon (3-5), Cozart was the first man up in the frame and got a first-ball fastball right down the middle and smoked it deep into the seats in left field.
"I have to go out there and execute a better strike," Papelbon said.
Cozart's bomb made a winner out of Jonathan Broxton (2-1), who allowed a run on two hits in the eighth. Aroldis Chapman allowed a runner to reach third base in the bottom of the ninth, but closed the door to claim his 30th save of the year.
Todd Frazier clubbed a solo shot, while Drew Stubbs and Ryan Hanigan also knocked in runs for the Reds, who had lost seven consecutive games to the Phillies.
"It's a sign that we don't get down when adversity comes," Frazier said. "This team has done it all year."
Jimmy Rollins ripped a two-run double, Ryan Howard knocked in a run and Kevin Frandsen had three hits, including an RBI triple for the Phils, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.
Cliff Lee got the start for Philadelphia and wound up with yet another no- decision despite shutting out the Reds through six innings. The potent Cincy bats finally hung three runs on him in the seventh, but the lefty ended his night with nine strikeouts and only one walk.
The Phillies won seven of eight games between the teams in 2011 and haven't lost the season series to the Reds since 2003.
