White Sox streak into Baltimore

The White Sox hold a 2 1/2-game advantage on the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central and enter their matchup with the O's after sweeping the Seattle Mariners this past weekend.
On Sunday, Tyler Flowers hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the seventh inning and Chicago eked out a 4-3 win over the Mariners in a rain-shortened win at U.S. Cellular Field.
The start of the contest was delayed for 1 hour, 51 minutes due to rain, which persisted throughout the game. Play was stopped in the seventh inning and the game was called following a wait of nearly two hours.
Flowers homered for the second straight game while Kevin Youkilis added an RBI triple and Jordan Danks had a sacrifice fly for the AL Central-leading White Sox, who concluded their seventh perfect homestand in franchise history.
Chicago, which also swept the New York Yankees on the stand, will send Francisco Liriano to the hill in Monday's opener. Liriano won his second straight start on Tuesday, as he beat the Yankees, holding them to a pair of runs and six hits in six innings to run his record to 2-0 since being acquired from Minnesota, while lowering his ERA to 4.39 in his five starts for the Pale Hose.
Liriano lost to the O's back on July 18 and is 2-3 in six starts against them with a 4.31 ERA.
Baltimore, meanwhile, will counter with Taiwanese lefty Wei-Yin Chen, who is 12-7 with a 3.87 ERA. Chen won his second straight start last Sunday in Detroit, despite giving up five runs and seven hits in five innings.
He beat the White Sox earlier in the year in his only other appearance against them.
The Orioles, whose game Sunday with the Blue Jays was rained out, are tied with the A's for the second wild card in the American League, three percentage points behind the Tampa Bay Rays.
They have won five of their last seven overall. After losing 11 of 14 at home, the Orioles have now won 10 of 13 there.
"(The Orioles) are a good team," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Sunday. "We just played the Yankees which is the same thing. It's kind of the same approach."
Baltimore is 3-1 this season against the White Sox.
