Hamels goes for 10th win against Indians

CLEVELAND (Ticker) - Cole Hamels will seek his National League-leading 10th win when the Philadelphia Phillies face the Cleveland Indians in the opener of three-game interleague series on Monday.

Hamels (9-2, 3.47 ERA) pitched eight innings, yielding two runs and six hits with eight strikeouts in a 7-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Hamels has posted a 2-0 record with 2.63 ERA and 18 strikeouts in three starts this month.

Hamels leads the NL with 104 strikeouts.

He will be opposed by Cliff Lee (3-4, 6.04), who snapped a personal four-game losing streak in a 7-3 triumph over the Florida Marlins. The lefthander yielded three runs and six hits with four walks and six strikeouts.

Indians third baseman Casey Blake will look to extend his current hitting streak to 27 games. Blake is batting .281 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI this season.
