Beckett, Red Sox look to bounce back vs. Braves

ATLANTA (Ticker) - Josh Beckett looks to return to the win column when the Boston Red Sox face the Atlanta Braves on Monday.

After winning his first nine decisions, Beckett was roughed up season highs of six runs and 10 hits over five innings in a 7-1 loss to Colorado on Thursday.

Beckett (9-1, 3.39 ERA) will look to fare better than Curt Schilling did in Monday's series opener. Schilling gave up six runs in 4 1/3 innings in a 9-4 loss.

Beckett is attempting to join John Lackey of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim as the only 10-game winners in baseball. Beckett has won his last three decisions against the Braves but is just 5-7 lifetime against them.

The Braves counter with Tim Hudson (6-4, 3.25), who has lost five straight to Boston. The righthander yielded only two hits through 7 1/3 innings, but received no decision in a 3-2 loss at Minnesota last Thursday.

Overall, Hudson is 3-8 with a 6.22 ERA in 11 career starts against Boston, his most losses against any opponent.
