Hamels hopes to end season on high note vs. Marlins

Hamels is 5-0 over his last nine starts and hasn't lost since Aug. 2 at Washington. The left-hander tossed a seven-hit shutout at Miami on Aug. 13, but he's 7-10 in 23 career games against the Marlins.
Nathan Eovaldi has fallen on hard times down the stretch for the Marlins, going 0-4 over his last six starts. He's without a win since Aug. 18 at Colorado. Eovaldi is 0-3 with a 6.43 ERA in three lifetime starts against the Phillies.
Last night, Carlos Ruiz had two hits and two RBI and Chase Utley knocked in three and scored twice to lead the Phillies to a 9-5 win. Pete Orr had a pair of RBI and Jimmy Rollins had three hits and scored three times for the Phillies, who snapped a three-game skid.
Roy Halladay (11-8) gave up four runs on six hits and struck out seven over five innings.
Giancarlo Stanton went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI and Rob Brantly drove in a run for the Marlins, who have dropped eight of nine and 10 of their last 12.
Ricky Nolasco (12-13) allowed five runs on nine hits and struck out four over five innings to absorb the loss.
"They just flat out had grind-it-out at-bats," Nolasco said of the Phillies. "They did a great job at the plate."
The Marlins took a 3-0 lead in the first. Stanton's two-run single scored Bryan Petersen and Donovan Solano, and Jose Reyes came around on Brantly's base hit to right field.
"The first inning was obviously sloppy," Halladay said. "After that it got better. We scored runs and got a win out of it."
The Phillies finally went ahead with a three-run fifth and held on.
Philadelphia, which leads the season series, 9-8, will be without first baseman Ryan Howard for the final four games due to a broken toe.
