Brewers looks to extend winning streak to six games

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) - The Milwaukee Brewers will try to complete a weekend series sweep of the Kansas City Royals and push their winning streak to six games in the finale on Sunday.

Milwaukee seeks its first three-game series sweep of Kansas City since April 22-24, 1994, when the Brewers were a member of the American League.

The Brewers hand the ball to rookie Yovani Gallardo (1-0, 4.26 ERA), who was impressive in his major league debut. Last Monday, Gallardo limited San Francisco to three runs and four hits with four strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings for the win.

Dave Bush pitched seven outstanding innings and Johnny Estrada drove in two runs as Milwaukee cruised to a 7-1 triumph on Saturday.

Odalis Perez (4-7, 6.06) hopes to stop the Royals' four-game slide when he takes the mound. In his last start, Perez allowed three runs and six hits in six frames of a 5-3 win at St. Louis.

The Dominican righthander is 2-0 with a 3.26 ERA in three career outings against the Brewers.
