Marquis, Cubs look to take rubber game vs. Brewers

CHICAGO (Ticker) - In order for this to be a successful weekend for the Chicago Cubs, Jason Marquis has to be on the top of his game.

Marquis and the Cubs seek to take the rubber game of their three-game series vs. the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday.

Chicago matched its most lopsided loss of the season when it lost, 13-4, to Milwaukee Saturday afternoon. The loss came on the heels of a 6-5 Cubs victory when Aramis Ramirez won Friday's game with a two-run homer in the ninth.

Marquis (5-4, 3.46 ERA) takes the mound, seeking his first win in early two months. The righthander started the season 5-1 in his first seven starts, but is 0-3 in his last nine. Including in that was a non-decision after he allowed three runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings in a 10-9 win vs. Colorado on Monday.

The 28-year-old is 4-6 with a 4.23 ERA in 14 games -12 starts - lifetime against Milwaukee.

The Brewers counter with Dave Bush (6-6, 5.06) who is 0-2 vs. the Cubs this season. Bush has won three straight, including pitching two shutout innings of relief in Wednesday's 6-3, 11-inning victory vs. the Houston Astros. His last loss was to Chicago on June 4.

Bush is just 1-4 with a 4.15 ERA in seven career starts against the Cubs. The Brewers are just 1-6 in those games.
