Orioles hand ball to Cabrera vs. White Sox
Jul 3, 2007 - 1:20 PM Baltimore (36-46) at Chi White Sox (35-44) 8:11 pm EDTCHICAGO (Ticker) - The Baltimore Orioles will try to make it two straight wins against the Chicago White Sox when they meet in the second of a four-game series on Tuesday.
In Monday's opener, Chris Ray struck out the side in the ninth after the Orioles touched Bobby Jenks for two runs in the top of the inning en route to a 7-6 victory.
Baltimore's Daniel Cabrera (6-8, 5.02 ERA) goes to the hill as he tries to win his third consecutive road game. He allowed four runs and six hits over 6 1/3 innings for a no decision on Thursday.
The righthander is 2-2 with a 4.39 ERA in five career starts against the White Sox, who are 15-22 at U.S. Cellular Field this season.
Javier Vazquez (4-5, 3.95) takes the ball for Chicago. Vazquez was been almost untouchable in his last two starts, allowing just two runs with 18 strikeouts in 14 frames.
The Puerto Rican righthander has posted a 5-2 record in nine career outings vs. Baltimore, which is just 17-24 away from home.
