Resurgent Loe faces Guthrie, Orioles
Jul 6, 2007 - 2:53 PM Baltimore (37-48) at Texas (36-49) 8:35 pm EDTARLINGTON, Texas (Ticker) -- Kameron Loe looks to continue his resurgence as he takes the mound for the Texas Rangers in the opener of a three-game series with the Baltimore Orioles on Friday.
Loe (5-6, 5.72 ERA) is 4-0 with a 1.95 ERA since being recalled from Class AAA Oklahoma on June 14.
Loe was demoted after losing six straight decisions and posting an 8.57 ERA, but his improvement has led to the Rangers' resurgence.
In his last outing Loe allowed one run and six hits over six innings against Boston on Sunday. His resume is an impressive one having beaten the Cubs, Tigers and Red Sox in his last three starts.
Meanwhile, Texas, which has won 10 of 15 and is unbeaten in its last six series, took two of three from the American League West-leading Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Baltimore's Jeremy Guthrie (4-2, 2.63) will look to slow the Rangers and bounce back from his first loss in his last 10 starts.
On Sunday the righthander, who is second in the AL in ERA, allowed four runs and eight hits to the Angels in eight innings. The four runs were the most he's surrendered all season.
