Upton brothers try to lead Braves to sweep of Cubs

Last night, B.J. Upton homered off Carlos Marmol to tie the contest, and brother Justin crushed his second homer of the game two batters later to cap a ninth-inning comeback and give the Braves a 6-5 win over the Chicago Cubs
B.J. Upton was having a rough start to his Braves career, coming into the contest 0-for-14 with nine strikeouts. However, he broke out of the slump on Saturday with two hits, and his game-tying homer set the stage for brother Justin's game winner.
"I mean it was just a great team effort," said B.J. Upton. "We're down late in the game and we stayed in it, piece together that eighth inning and came back and got it done in the ninth."
Atlanta, which rallied from a 5-1 eighth-inning deficit, will send Tim Hudson to the mound Sunday afternoon in an attempt for a weekend sweep. The right- hander allowed six hits and three runs over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision to the Phillies on Monday. Hudson is 2-1 with a 3.44 ERA in six career games against the Cubs.
Jeff Samardzija, who was spectacular in Chicago's season-opening win at Pittsburgh Monday, counters for the Cubs. The righty fanned nine and gave up just two hits in eight shutout innings versus the Pirates. He's 2-0 with a 2.66 ERA in eight games (2 starts) against the Braes.
In Saturday's game, Eric O'Flaherty (1-0) picked up the win with a scoreless top of the ninth.
Marmol (0-1) recorded just a single out in the ninth.
"It's tough. I've been through it," said Cubs starter Carlos Villanueva, who was in line for the win before Marmol blew the save. "I just hope he (Marmol) understands that we've only had five games."
The Cubs won four of seven games against Atlanta last season. The Braves will try for their first three-game sweep of the Cubs since May 26-28, 2006 at Wrigley Field.
