Lopez, Rockies happy to be home

Jul 7, 2007 - 2:22 PM Philadelphia (43-43) at Colorado (43-43) 8:05 pm EDT

DENVER (Ticker) - No one is happier than Rodrigo Lopez that the Colorado Rockies' recent nightmarish road trip is over.

Lopez (4-2, 4.77 ERA) takes the mound looking to stay unbeaten at home and lead the Rockies to their fifth straight win against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.

Lopez, who recently went 0-2 with a 14.54 ERA during the franchise-worst 1-9 trip, is 4-0 with a 3.27 ERA in six starts here.

In his last start Lopez was lit up for six runs and eight hits in a season-low tying four innings against Houston on Friday.

On Friday Brad Hawpe hit a game-tying home run off Antonio Alfonseca in the ninth and Yorvit Torrealba hit a two-out RBI single in the 11th in the Rockies' 7-6 win.

The Rockies have won seven straight at home and are averaging 10 runs a game in their last four contests. Colorado has not won eight in a row at home since May 25- June 5, 2003.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia is enduring a rough road trip of their own. The Phillies, which have started their six-game road trip 1-3, will send 44-year-old Jamie Moyer to the hill.

Moyer (7-6, 4.25) also lost to the Astros in his last start, surrendering four runs and nine hits in six innings on Monday.
