Blue Jays edge White Sox in series opener

Buehrle (1-0) gave up two runs on nine hits with two walks and three strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings against his former team while Emilio Bonifacio and Melky Cabrera each drove in a run for the Blue Jays, who have won three of four.
Buehrle played his first 12 seasons with Chicago before signing with Miami last offseason. He was dealt to Toronto as part of a 12-player deal this past offseason and was pitching against his former team for the first time.
"It's weird rooting against those guys," Buehrle said of pitching against his former team. "I've rooted for them for 13 years and wanted them to win every game and this is the first game in I don't know how long that I'm actually rooting against them."
Dayan Viciedo went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Paul Konerko and Alexei Ramirez each drove in a run for the White Sox, who have lost six of seven. Gavin Floyd (0-3) dropped his third start of the year after giving up four runs on nine hits with three walks and six strikeouts in just 4 1/3 innings.
"When you leave balls up consistently, you're going to get hurt a little bit," Floyd remarked of his outing.
Chicago got on board in the first inning as Konerko and Viciedo each hit an RBI single to give the team a 2-0 lead.
It was short lived, though, as Bonifacio doubled to start the Toronto first and moved to third on a passed ball. After Cabrera's sacrifice fly, Arencibia followed with a homer over the right-center wall, his fourth of the year, which tied the game.
In the second, Izturis led off the frame with his second homer of the season to give the Blue Jays a 3-2 lead.
The fourth inning saw Toronto add to its lead as Munenori Kawasaki tripled with one out and scored when Bonifacio followed with a sacrifice fly for a 4-2 advantage.
Chicago left runners at the corners in the fifth, but pushed one across in the eighth to make it a one-run game. Aaron Loup took over on the mound with one out and hit Adam Dunn with a pitch. After Viciedo doubled to put runners on second and third, Ramirez lofted a sac fly to center to score Dunn for a 4-3 contest. Tyler Flowers struck out to end the frame.
Casey Janssen set the White Sox down in order in the ninth for his fourth save of the season.
