Hendrickson set to go on three days rest vs. Marlins

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Mark Hendrickson has bounced back and forth between the bullpen and the rotation all season, which means his arm should be loose enough to survive a start on three days' rest.

Hendrickson (2-4, 4.05 ERA) will try to help the Los Angeles Dodgers snap a four-game losing streak and avoid a sweep at the hands of the visiting Florida Marlins.

The lanky lefthander has made nine starts this season, compiling a 2-4 record with a 4.69 ERA. Last Wednesday, Hendrickson lasted five frames, yielding two runs and seven hits and absorbing the loss against Atlanta.

Hendrickson will be taking on a Marlins lineup that leads the National League in strikeouts with 736 on the season - more than 50 clear of their next closest competitors, the San Diego Padres.

Florida will counter with Scott Olsen (6-6, 5.01). The 23-year-old lefthander has struggled this season, walking 49 and allowing 117 hits in 102 1/3 innings.

Olsen was one of the many surprising success stories for the overachieving Marlins in 2006, posting a 12-10 record with a 4.04 ERA, but he has yet to find any consistency this season.
