Phillies look for fourth straight win, face Cardinals

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) - Adam Eaton hopes his Philadelphia Phillies teammates keep up their offensive act.

Eaton and the Phillies look to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.

Philadelphia posted a 10-4 victory over St. Louis on Saturday, helped by from homers by Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard.

It was the third straight win for the Phillies, who have averaged 10.3 runs over that span. With the win, the Phillies temporarily avoided becoming the first franchise to lose 10,000 games.

Eaton (8-5, 3.72 ERA) looks to win his second straight decision after going winless in his previous four starts. The righthander hadn't won since June 11, until he allowed four runs and eight hits in six innings in an 8-4 victory against Colorado last Sunday.

Eaton is 1-3 with a 5.93 ERA in his career against St. Louis, including 0-1 this year.

The Cardinals counter with Adam Wainwright (7-7, 4.66), who was also successful in his last outing. The 25-year-old in his first year as a starter for the Cardinals, yielded two runs and five hits in seven innings of a 3-2 victory on July 5.

In his only career start against Philadelphia, the 6-7 righthander allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings to earn an 8-3 win on June 23.

Wainwright has alternated wins and losses in his last five starts for St. Louis, which has lost two straight and four of five.
